During our latest editorial board meeting of the Archives of Surgery, we discussed the need for more continuing medical education (CME) for surgeons in practice, especially the CME that requires questions and answers to get credit—Maintenance of Certification Part 2 self-assessment activity (successful completion of each quiz provides 1 American Medical Association Physician's Recognition Award Category 1 credit). Edward Cornwall, MD, has been writing our monthly CME quiz since 2005 and has done a fabulous job. We decided to increase our CME quizzes to 2 a month beginning in January of 2012, and 2 of our associate editors are going to create the additional quizzes, Pam Lipsett, MD, and Michael Zenilman, MD. Please let us know what you think about this additional CME and is this enough? Do you need more CME from the Archives of Surgery?
