The book, Diverticular Disease: Management of the Difficult Surgical Case, is a multiauthor work entirely devoted to the subject of diverticular disease of the gastrointestinal tract. The editors are all members of the Connecticut Surgical Group, centered in Hartford. Prior to reading this book, I was somewhat dubious that an entire text should be devoted to one disease. However, upon completion of my reading, I am pleased to report that it was a worthwhile project and that it should be read, if not in its entirety then at least in parts, by most surgeons who treat patients with diverticular disease.
