Diagnosis of Diseases of the Breast is divided into 7 sections involving 32 chapters. It is a comprehensive review of a panorama of pretreatment and posttreatment imaging studies. Special emphasis is given to techniques for evaluating results (clinical outcome analyses), historical data, and a continuing comparison of normal breast structures with diseased states. There is a heavy emphasis on benign diseases, not often addressed in the imaging literature. This text is a distillate of the many imaging studies that have emerged since 1975 and will serve as an excellent diagnostic reference in a rapidly changing field that has benefited from technical advancements. The variety of imaging techniques are well defined and pitfalls in their interpretation are clearly outlined.
