Hematoxylin-eosin and immunohistochemistry analysis. A, A moderately differentiated right colon cancer with focal invasion of the submucosa (T1). B, Micrometastases (<2-mm) deposit by hematoxylin-eosin staining in the sentinel node only. Forty-two other lymph nodes were negative by hematoxylin-eosin and immunohistochemistry staining. The patient's stage was, therefore, T1N1(SN)M0.
