We would like to thank Dr Tabibian for his critical review of our article and insightful comments. In response to his first question, all of our operative cases were performed through a standard open laparotomy, as this is the practice at our institution. While we agree that laparoscopic adhesiolysis is technically feasible in carefully selected cases, there are limited data suggesting a shorter length of stay and fewer complications and no study demonstrating prevention of recurrent obstructive episodes.
