Sectional anatomy, as taught in medical schools in the past, is receiving renewed emphasis as tomography of the skull is becoming more widely used and its importance is becoming established. This book is well contrived to guide the surgeon and radiologist through the skull in four planes. The sections are 1 mm thick and are conveniently represented in trios of illustrations including the anatomic section, a roentgenographic tomogram of the same level, and a precise line drawing with numerical labels indicating all the pertinent structures.
The labeling of the line drawing is done very well. They are numbered continuously and the same structure has the same number from one page to the next. Still, the name of the structure is repeated so there is no leafing back to find the answer. The selections of structures to be labeled is at an informed level of usefulness and tedium is consequently avoided.
