I like this book and find it very useful. Although I have had a basic distaste for laundry lists as an educational device, the authors may have made a convert because a substantial amount of useful and ordered information is provided in this text.
In 43 succinct chapters, virtually all tumor sites are addressed. These range across all surgical specialties and include lymphomas and leukemias. The contributors are well regarded in their fields.
The title of the book is a bit misleading because there is a great deal more than directions for patient follow-up. For each tumor site, a decision tree or flowchart for diagnosis and management precedes a systematic approach to follow-up. Each decision point is keyed to brief statements and selected references that strengthen and justify that branching point in the algorithm. For each tumor site, proposed schedules for diagnostic procedures are related to intervals after primary treatment.
