ABSTRACT

At a time when there are so many vascular publications available, what would make this latest edition any more appealing? Vascular Surgery: A Comprehensive Review spans the large gap between the major textbooks of vascular surgery and the smaller, more specialized editions. Since major textbooks generally require several years to produce, they may be dated in some areas, while the smaller books are usually confined to a single topic and may be abbreviated. This book is the product of a symposium to update vascular surgeons who are in preparation for the certification examination, and as a result the production time was rapid (12 months).

The book is just under 1,000 pages long and is composed of 31 chapters supplied by well-recognized contributors. In many such multiauthored texts, frequent changes in writing styles may become distracting. However, this book has been well organized and edited in a very readable fashion. In
