ABSTRACT

Malignant Tumors of Childhood is a collection of articles and case reports presented at the Sixth Annual Robert E. Gross Symposium held at the M. D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute, Houston, in February 1984.

The first three chapters consist of accolades for Dr Gross and his disciples intercalated with the history of the treatment of Wilms' tumor. This book does not attempt to encompass basic pediatric surgical or medical oncology but presents the experience of various authors in dealing with selected tumors that occur in the pediatric population. The different aspects of the tumors and their behavior are discussed in perspective of the multiple specialties well represented by the 67 contributing authors.

Chapters are well referenced for those who want to expand on the presented subjects; however, there is no index, and the sequence of the chapters is haphazard. A group arrangement is maintained in the five chapters dedicated
