Surgical Pathology of the Breast

This excellent book has many photographs and illustrations and is written in a down-to-earth style one might expect from a clinically oriented group of surgeons from England. The book is mostly confined to surgical pathology but there are excellent editorial comments along the way by a surgeon about the surgical aspects of various topics, including recommendations of surgical treatment for a variety of benign conditions. There is also significant and pertinent discussion about the use of Langer's lines for all breast incisions, a lesson that many surgeons in this country still have not learned. Included in the authors' treatment recommendations for several benign conditions are excellent, brief, surgical comments about performing this procedure.

One major failing of the book is a lack of intense and contemporary discussion of duct carcinoma in situ. The section on duct carcinoma in situ is rather brief; does not recognize many of the recently described
