The 64th Annual Meeting of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons was held in Montreal, Quebec, September 13-17, 1995, with 3218 in attendance. The meeting included 38 participating societies, and there was excellent representation of specialty medicine from every province in Canada. The theme of the annual meeting this year was aging and health.
There are many components to the Royal College annual meeting. It is the scientific forum for all the participating specialty societies in medicine and surgery, and results of basic and clinical research are presented by every medical and surgical discipline. There is a large medical/ surgical laboratory exhibition and an active social program that allows specialty physicians from all parts of Canada to meet at several well-organized social functions.
One of the highlights of the meeting is the convocation, which recognizes the successful completion of specialty training and honors a selected group of physicians. This
