That being said, the article makes some valuable conclusions that are both provocative and hypothesis generating. Most notable are the data suggesting that patients who develop thicker melanoma after transplantation have more aggressive disease and lower survival rates compared with patients not undergoing transplantation. This finding implies that more aggressive screening and early detection of melanoma are vital.
