With hepatic resections being performed more frequently worldwide, more surgical trainees are exposed to these operative procedures.3 Therefore, there is a greater call for understanding functional hepatic anatomy4; a surgeon's knowledge of hepatic anatomy commonly determines a patient's outcome.5
