The title substantially understates the scope of the book. This text is divided into 6 major areas: "History and Physiology," "Diagnostic Techniques," "Techniques," "Pathology and Management," "Deep Venous Thrombosis," and "Venous Trauma." Within these areas, the authors successfully present an exceptionally well-written text covering nearly all of the relevant issues in the diagnosis and management of venous disease. Despite 50 contributors, the chapters are presented in a consistent style with little redundancy. The quality of the writing makes this a highly readable book. Most of the topics and diagrams in the chapters describing the physiology of venous disorders are reproduced from a variety of standard well-known monograms and texts; however, their inclusion in this single publication makes this book a valuable resource.
