This past year was another fantastic year for the Archives of Surgery. When I travel to meetings and other academic institutions, surgeons in practice and surgeons in training tell me how much they enjoy reading our journal and how they truly love the Invited Critiques. Some even say they read the Invited Critiques first, before the article, and some whisper to me in private that they sometimes only read the Invited Critique itself! The Invited Critiques are well written and quite poignant, pointing out the good and bad about each article and commenting on how we all should use the new information to take better care of our patients.
