AB In a recent complete review of the literature by one of us (W. F. M.),1 intussusception of the appendix was found to have been reported less than 100 times. There were no reports of such an occurrence presenting clinically and radiographically as a cecal carcinoma. This case is presented because of the rarity of the pathological condition and the unusual clinical presentation.Report of a Case 
    A 55-year-old Negro woman was admitted to the John Gaston Hospital, a teaching hospital of the University of Tennessee, because of diffuse lower abdominal pain and a right lower quadrant mass.The patient stated that she had noticed a gradually enlarging abdominal mass for several weeks before coming to the hospital. She described her pain as dull and intermittent in character and aggravated by walking. It was never colicky and did not radiate. She denied melena, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and weight loss.Past
