James W. Fleshman Jr, MD, received his medical degree from the Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, Missouri, and completed his surgical residency at the same institution. He completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Toronto. Dr Fleshman is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is presently the chief of the section of colon and rectal surgery and professor of surgery at Washington University and specializes in the laparoscopic treatment of colorectal cancer.
