This is a monograph of 365 pages assembled by 3 editors with 69 contributing authors. Eighty percent of the work addresses aortic aneurysmal disease, primarily atherosclerotic (or degenerative if you prefer) but also including aortic dissections beginning distal to the left subclavian. The remainder is concerned with cervical and upper-extremity aneurysms; visceral (including renal), hypogastric, and sciatic artery aneurysms; and 1 chapter each on infected false aneurysms of the femoral artery and popliteal artery aneurysms. Many of these subjects are covered in standard vascular surgery texts. For example, one of the standard vascular surgery texts devotes approximately three quarters of the number of pages of this monograph to similar subjects. Thus, there is not a great difference between this monograph and a general vascular text in either the breadth or detail in which the subjects are covered. This monograph, however, does provide both useful supplemental information as well as the views of a somewhat different group of surgeons.
