Coagulative necrosis caused by unintentional energy transfer, manifesting after a lucid interval of 4 to 5 days, is disastrous for hollow viscera. Thus, the call for reduced reliance on energized dissection is welcome.1 Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC), an index laparoscopic procedure, can be safely performed without energized dissection.2 Paradoxically, energized dissection as a facilitator of laparoscopic surgery is a concern too, reminding one of Niels Bohr's saying, “The opposite of a profound truth may well be another profound truth.”3
