N2  - Clinical studies and pathologic experiments have contributed to a broad investigation of the peripheral dystrophies associated with diseases of the brain.Successive researches made in this domain (Schiff and Rokitansky;1 Charcot;2 Andral;3 Arndt;4 Mogilnizky;5 Burdenko;6 Nikolajew;7 Korst;8 Cushing9) have laid the foundation for an original theory of the genesis of certain types of gastric and duodenal ulcer. This conception establishes a direct connection between the development of chronic ulcer and the destruction of the trophic centers.
