The author is a highly respected elder statesman of plastic surgery, and this summary of principles of technique is clearly a labor of love by a thoughtful scholar and gentleman.The book is comparable in several ways with Dr Ralph Millard's books on plastic surgery, which also contain a mixture of anecdotes, tradition, scientific data, pearls of wisdom, and personal opinions. The Art of Surgical Technique is a book to be enjoyed by all of us and one to be studied by medical students considering surgery, surgical residents, surgical assistants, scrub nurses, and technicians.
