N2  - To the Editor.—Since its description in 1958, approximately 200 cases of gastric pseudolymphoma (GPL) have been reported. Gastric pseudolymphoma is regarded basically as a benign condition, although various authors have speculated on its potential for malignant transformation. Over the years, several reports associating GPL with malignant lymphoma have been published, thus implying that GPL may be a premalignant condition.1-6 Nevertheless, to date, guidelines for treatment of GPL remain lenient.Report of a Case.—We recently performed a subtotal gastrectomy on a 37-year-old woman who we had been observing for 20 years and in whom the diagnosis of GPL had been made, supported by repeated gastroscopic biopsy specimens. After many years of refusal, the patient finally agreed to undergo surgery, hoping to achieve the symptomatic relief that the numerous conservative treatments she had undergone had failed. At laparotomy, the gastric antrum was grossly thickened, and regional lymphadenopathy was noted.
