Our patient had recurrent formation of heterotopic bone involving the abdominal wall, peritoneum, and small-bowel mesentery. The features of various types of ectopic calcification are discussed, and several theories concerning the pathogenesis and treatment of heterotopic ossification are examined.(Arch Surg 1989;124:982-983) SN - 0004-0010 M3 - doi: 10.1001/archsurg.1989.01410080118020 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archsurg.1989.01410080118020 ER -
