Adjuvant postoperative irradiation was applied selectively when the minimum margin was less than 2 cm (22 patients). Technical improvements in exposure, resection of involved vessels or nerve, and preservation of function permitted a high rate of limb salvage with satisfactory function. At a median follow-up of 30 months for those subjects still alive, the 5-year disease-free survival rate was 65%, and only 3 patients (6%) had had a local recurrence.(Arch Surg. 1989;124:1297-1300) SN - 0004-0010 M3 - doi: 10.1001/archsurg.1989.01410110055011 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archsurg.1989.01410110055011 ER -
